I have the same filter on my 55 gal planted tank. Not only does it work great, but it is so easy to do maintenance. The locking hose adapters let you remove the filter without having to pull the hoses out of the tank, and the built-in siphon starter is wonderful.

Eheim's cost a little more, but the price is well worth the quality and design.

I just upgraded to Eheim ProII filter system and love it! I had a small Eheim but I wanted more flow and more space from Seachem purigen media. The water is now crystal clear! The best it has been since I set up the planted tank! I also put a prefilter on the pickup line to prevent clogs. I read about this item on a blog. It works good!I will post photos later.
